With carers in mind, the guide has been developed to be high quality and visually eye-catching. This valuable resource for carers, is researched, evidence based and presented in plain English to ensure clarity and readability. The guides are being made available to carers at no charge through local hospices and palliative care providers.
This 2024 edition comes after months of work from a dedicated group of palliative care professionals and family carers who reviewed the previous, popular hospice ‘Guide for Carers’, and made recommendations for the inclusion of existing and current information and topics for this edition. The group worked in collaboration with ‘Tandem Road’ who provided professional assistance with the writing, design, and production of the guide.
We acknowledge and sincerely thank everyone who reviewed drafts and provided insightful critiques for this 2024 edition, and to those who have so willingly contributed their expertise or firsthand experiences to this guide. We appreciate the work and expertise of Tandem Road to Shine On whose generous donation has contributed towards the cost of printing the guide, to Blue Star for their printing, storage, and ordering services, and to hospices for providing this resource to carers. We acknowledge all carers who give of their time, energy and selves to walk along-side and support others through this challenging and life-changing time of their lives.
