In an incredible show of generosity, Farmers stores and their customers have raised over $1 million for hospices nationwide in the lead-up to Christmas, marking a significant milestone in the annual Farmers Christmas Campaign.
This remarkable achievement highlights the heartwarming support that continues to pour in for hospice care, with donations made through the sale of limited-edition Christmas baubles and contributions to the Tree of Remembrance in stores across New Zealand.
For every Christmas bauble purchased, Farmers donated the full $15.99 to hospice care. Customers also had the option to make a direct donation at the 'Tree of Remembrance' in-store, where 100% of funds collected supported their local hospice. Thanks to these combined efforts, Farmers and their customers have made a profound impact on the lives of those in need.
Wayne Naylor, Chief Executive of Hospice New Zealand, shared his gratitude:
Wayne Naylor, Chief Executive of Hospice New Zealand, said:
"To see Farmers and their customers raise over $1 million for hospice care is truly remarkable. This incredible achievement speaks volumes about the generosity of the New Zealand community. Every bauble purchased and every donation made is helping to ensure that hospice care remains free and accessible for all who need it. This year’s campaign has not only exceeded expectations, but it has set a new standard for what we can accomplish together. We are beyond grateful for this unwavering support, and this milestone will make a lasting impact on families across the country."
Now in its 11th year, the Farmers Christmas Campaign has raised $9 million in total, ensuring that anyone with a life-limiting illness has access to the compassionate care they deserve. This year’s campaign continues to make a lasting difference, allowing hospices to support families and individuals during the most difficult times.
Jane Rollings, Service Manager of Nurse Maude Hospice Palliative Care says “The community awareness that this annual campaign generates as well as the fundraising has such a positive impact, ensuring people receive the quality palliative care they need and deserve.”
With the continued partnership of Farmers and the community, the future of hospice care looks brighter than ever. Here's to another year of compassion, generosity, and the shared mission to help people live life well, until the very end.
Jo Seagar, Hospice NZ Ambassador says “Your incredible effort in raising one million dollars during last Christmas’s fundraising event is nothing short of extraordinary.
