Syringe Driver Competency

Important changes to the existing syringe driver competency course!

An online syringe driver course has been available for the past 4 years via Hospice Waikato's learning platform PalEd. Hospice Waikato is upgrading PalEd on 11 December 2024. This upgrade means the current syringe driver course will no longer be available on PalEd.

PalEd is no longer receiving registrations for the online syringe driver training.

For learners currently registered with PalEd for the syringe driver competency course, you must complete the online learning and download your certificate by 9 December 2024.

After 10 December 2024, the course on PalEd will no longer exist, and certificates or assessment results will not be accessible.

Practical competency workshops will continue via your local hospice. You will receive a completion certificate from your local hospice after completing the workshop.

If you are unable to complete your learning via PalEd by 9 December 2024, you will have the opportunity to enroll in an updated syringe driver competency course, which will be available via Hospice New Zealand’s learning platform the ‘Knowledge Hub’ in January 2025.
