Hospice NZ Fundamentals of Palliative Care

The Fundamentals of Palliative Care Programme - A blended online learning programme

As healthcare workers, we play a vital role in supporting people with palliative care needs. This means being prepared to provide ongoing assessment, recognising changes as illness progresses, and responding with compassion and skill.

Learning about palliative care can make a real difference, not only for the people in our care, but also for their family and whānau, and for us as healthcare professionals. It improves assessment, communication, and overall outcomes.

This course is designed to help you build a strong understanding of the essence and principles of palliative care, so you feel prepared and confident when caring for people in Aotearoa New Zealand at the end of life.

Complete all 5 eLearning modules and submit your feedback. We encourage you to follow this up by attending a face-to-face workshop. Contact your local hospice or talk to your Educator or Manager to book into a workshop.
