Farmers stores raise over $800,000 for hospices across the country

The annual Farmers Christmas Campaign has once again delivered an outstanding result for hospices nationwide, thanks to the generosity of Farmers stores and customers across New Zealand.  The campaign has raised vital funds to help ensure people can access compassionate end of life care in their communities.

In the lead up to Christmas, thousands of people supported their local hospice by purchasing Farmers limited-edition Christmas baubles, making donations at the counter, and writing remembrance cards to place on the in-store Tree of Remembrance. One hundred percent of funds raised in each Farmers store go directly to their local hospice.

Wayne Naylor, Te Kahu Pairuri o Aotearoa / Hospice New Zealand Chief Executive shared his gratitude:

“Over $800,000 raised through the Hospice Farmers campaign is a powerful reminder of the kindness and generosity of people across Aotearoa. We are incredibly grateful to Farmers for their long-standing Partnership and commitment to supporting hospice care across the motu. Every donation helps keep hospice care free and accessible for those who need it most, and this support will make a real difference for families nationwide.”

Now in its twelfth year, the Farmers Christmas Campaign has raised over $9.5Million in total, helping to ensure anyone with a life-limiting illness can access hospice care.

Jo Seagar, Hospice NZ Ambassador said:

“We are absolutely overwhelmed and deeply grateful for the incredible generosity shown through Farmers stores nationwide during this highly successful Christmas fundraising campaign. The kindness of Farmers customers, combined with the wholehearted encouragement and commitment of Farmers staff and management across the country, has made this campaign truly special and immensely impactful. From those who donated at the counter to the teams who championed the cause every day in store, we extend our sincerest thanks. Your support, enthusiasm and belief in what this campaign represents will make a real and lasting difference, and we are deeply thankful to everyone who helped make this Christmas appeal such a success.”

Once again Farmers staff have been incredible ambassadors for hospice care, not only helping to raise funds, but also supporting greater community understanding of the work hospices do. The awareness raised through the partnership with Farmers is invaluable.

Thank you to everyone who purchased a Christmas bauble or made a donation at Farmers. You have all contributed to keeping hospice services free in your local community.
