This study day focuses on emergent and urgent palliative and end-of-life care (PEOLC) in community settings including decision making around goals and ongoing place of care. It is especially suitable for ambulance personnel and palliative care practitioners. Topics include:

  • Provision of unplanned, emergency PEOLC care in New Zealand

  • Supporting Pacific people and families in PEOLC

  • Palliative care emergencies

  • PEOLC decision-making in aged care settings

  • Syringe drivers and subcutaneous medicines
