Hospice Mid-Northland covers the area from Towai in the South to Taupo Bay in the North and coast to coast in between, serving a population of over 40,000 people. Our Hospice nurses and Family Support Counsellor visit patients in their own home to offer pain and symptom control, and support for patients and their family/whanau. As well as providing specialist education sessions for other health professionals. In some instances extra nursing support may be recommended by our clinical team, to give carers some respite and additional support to care for their loved ones. This service includes volunteer support, day or evening nursing support, and overnight care by caregivers or registered nurses. Hospice Mid-Northland provides specialist palliative care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, free of charge, to anyone in the Mid-Northland community suffering from a life limiting illness.
