Cradle to Grave health services join forces for change

Hospice CEO Wayne Naylor speaks on TV3’s AM Show and challenges the new Government not to keep putting ‘bandaids’ on the issue of pay equity for nurses in the community and primary sectors.

“One-off bits of money don’t provide a sustainable  way forward for our services and won’t fix the loss of our staff to Te Whatu Ora.”

Wayne says while the primary and community sector got  $200 million earlier in year to address pay disparity,  this is very very little compared to the $4 billion that went on Te Whatu  Ora nursing salaries

“It’s just not enough to keep our nurses in the jobs they love to do,” he says

Wayne says nurses are leaving this essential service because they need  to earn more money not because they want to change jobs.
