Hospice Marlborough covers Blenheim, Picton and Marlborough Sounds.
Our Hospice services reflect our community’s needs. In Marlborough services include inpatient and community care, bereavement support, counselling, spiritual care, equipment loan and education.
Hospice palliative care can be provided in a number of settings, in the hospice inpatient unit, but more commonly these days, in a person’s home or place of residence in the community. Hospice is a philosophy of care.
Care is provided 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
At home – hospice staff work in partnership with the patient’s own general practitioner (family doctor), whanau (immediate family and friends).. When required patients can be admitted for specialist care, which includes, control of symptoms, respite and end of life care.
