Hospice Marlborough has provided care services to the people of Marlborough since 2003. Our service provision covers Blenheim, Renwick, Wairau Valley, Seddon, Ward, Picton, Havelock, Rai Valley, Canvastown and the Marlborough Sounds.
Hospice Marlborough is privileged to provide specialist palliative care services across Marlborough through our dedicated and highly skilled team, meeting the needs of our community through a holistic wrap around service of care.
As an agile service provider and a charitable trust, we support and educate patients, whānau and our partners also supporting people through illness, death, and bereavement, ensuring patients, their whānau and their carers receive empathetic quality care.
Referrals – Hospice Marlborough can receive referrals whilst people are undergoing treatments for their illness, and we link in with General Practitioners (family doctor) and other healthcare agencies and organisations such as District Nurses or home care providers, we are not just for end-of-life care. In fact, early referrals allow us to better understand patients, their families, and friends, enabling tailored care to meet their needs and wishes.
Self-Referrals – You or your family can also self-refer to Hospice palliative care by giving our team a call on (03) 578 9492 and we are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and in the community.
Our services are free of charge to patients and their families irrespective of their religion, ethnicity, or age; however, there is a cost to provide them. Currently Hospice Marlborough receives just over 50% of our annual funding through Te Whatu Ora (Health New Zealand) with shortfall being raised every year through the generous support of our community, at our Hospice Shops and through fundraising activities.
