Hospice New Zealand announces Richard Westlake as new independent Chair

Richard Westlake, an experienced director and board chair, with extensive governance experience across many sectors, has been appointed Chair of Te Kahu Pairuri o Aotearoa/ Hospice New Zealand.  Richard is founder and managing director of Westlake Governance Ltd, working with boards, CEOs and board chairs, to build boards into leading teams.

Current Chair of Hospice New Zealand, Jane Williams says, “Richard has particular expertise and experience in leading transformational change across a range of sectors. His combination of skills will be especially valuable to the hospice sector as it aligns with the health reforms progress towards a more equitable health system.”

“Right now, we need a fairer funding system to achieve equitable access for all New Zealanders for the best quality palliative care at the end of life, no matter who they are or where they live.

“Richard’s appointment is a significant opportunity to work with our ambitious team and proactive membership to see transformative change for our sector,” says Jane.
