Since 1997, Dilmah has donated all the tea each hospice service in New Zealand could need each and every year. In the past year alone Dilmah donated 400,000 teabags to hospices across the country.
Due to this generous donation, we are able to make the highest quality tea available to people in hospice care and their families, friends and visitors, and staff and volunteers.
The process of making a cup of tea, and the comforting conversations that can occur over a hot cuppa can be relaxing and therapeutic, no matter the time of day or night.
Around 11 million teabags have been donated over the years – a testament to the commitment of the entire Fernando family to New Zealand hospices. In terms of a dollar value, this donation has saved hospices over $550,000 over the years – supporting us in our work providing care for people with a life limiting condition, totally free of charge.
Since 2014, Dilmah has also run on pack promotion every other year. In August-September Dilmah donated 50c from each box of selected tea bags sold, raising an incredible $100,000 for Hospice New Zealand over the years.
Te Kahu Pairuri o Aotearoa – Hospice New Zealand has gifted BNI a gold medal, in recognition of the significant contribution Dilmah has made to the hospice movement in Aotearoa New Zealand.
