North Haven Hospice - Whangarei

Northland Palliative Care Specialist Nurse Educator/Advisor, 0.4 FTE (16 hours per week)

This exciting new role will lead a small team of specialist palliative educators to set up a palliative education service for Northland. This service will help build the capacity and capability of palliative care within the generalist health and support services of Northland.

Key responsibilities involve working with the service providers through area palliative educators to determine palliative education needs. Facilitating access to suitable education opportunities for providers in different areas of Northland will help to increase overall generalist palliative knowledge within the Northland Health community.

This appointment would suit an experienced registered nurse who has a thorough understanding of palliative care principles and philosophy and is aware of national initiatives in relation to palliative care. They would hold or be working towards a Masters qualification (preferable with a focus in palliative nursing). They would be able to work closely with all members of the wider interdisplinary team and have well developed communication skills (both oral and written). Some experience with adult teaching is preferred. A good working knowledge of computers and MS Suites would be advantageous.

Consultant – Palliative Care

Our Palliative Care team at Counties Manukau District Health Board is looking for a suitably qualified Consultant to join their multidisciplinary team.

This role will be based at Middlemore Hospital as well as working within the community units at Pukekohe and Waiuku. Our passionate team aims to provide excellent care to the community of South Auckland which has a diverse and growing population of 450,000.

Registration with the NZ Medical Council as a palliative medicine specialist is essential.

Hospice Eastern Bay of Plenty

Medical director - Invercargill
Hospice Southland is looking for a suitably qualified medical practitioner specialising in palliative care who is interested in providing an excellent standard of clinical leadership as part of the senior management team.

The successful applicant will have overall clinical responsibility for the care provided to all patients within the inpatient and community settings.

This role is supported by highly experienced part-time medical officers, and a team of extremely capable and skilled nursing and allied health professionals.

Registered nurse (relief position)

Medical Director - Dunedin
Otago Community Hospice is seeking a medical director to join its dynamic senior management team. The medical director will take an active clinical role in caring for patients and their families, provide leadership and strategic direction for palliative care services in Otago, lead the medical team and contribute to Otago-wide education programmes.
