South Canterbury Hospice has a five-bed inpatient facility. Volunteers help if needed and are rostered for meal preparation.

In the community, a nursing and volunteer service is provided and electric beds, wheelchairs and other equipment are available if needed, as is accommodation for relatives.

The area serviced by the hospice includes all of South Canterbury bounded by the Rangitata River in the north and the Waitaki River to the south and back to Mount Cook with a total population base of about 54,000.
