Did you know in 2007...

28,520 New Zealanders died. The majority of these people knew they were at the end of their lives. They had progressive conditions, that limit life and have no cure.

Hospices cared for 10,748 people all completely free of charge.

Hospice care cost $59.5 million to provide; $33.2 million of this was funded by government. The remaining millions were donated by the community, their continued support is vital.
