In 2008 HNZ members unanimously agreed that the development of a new edition of quality standards for hospice care should be a priority for HNZ. The standards are designed to be applicable in the wide variety of settings. Hospice NZ members have committed to meeting these standards and have been heavily involved in their development, alongside a range of providers of palliative care.
Whilst Hospice NZ has been responsible for the management of this project, a Governance group has overseen the strategic direction of the project and a working group has supported the content development.
