Hospice Taranaki provides a full range of palliative care services to the people of the Taranaki province. Te Rangimarie is the in-patient unit located in New Plymouth, however a comprehensive community service is available throughout the province, in some areas in liaison with the District Nursing service. Hospice Taranaki services include medical, nursing, spiritual and social support to more than 500 patients and their families each year through its team of over 50 staff and in excess of 500 volunteers.

Arohanui Hospice provides specialist palliative care services for patients with a life-limiting illness and support for their families and whanau in the Manawatu, Horowhenua, Tararua and Rangitikei regions. These services are both inpatient and community based. Arohanui Hospice has 10 inpatient beds and an additional bed for day procedures in Palmerston North. Community teams of specialist nurses (palliative care coordinators) and social workers provide assessment and care to patients in the community. The interdisciplinary team also includes medical specialists, a day stay coordinator, pastoral support, counselling, a palliative care pharmacist and a massage therapist.

The Arohanui Hospice Horowhenua Centre in Levin provides a base for outpatient care, an activities based programme and education.
Arohanui Hospice staff work closely with the hospital-based palliative care team and generalist palliative care providers in the community through the Palliative Care Partnership. Arohanui Hospice has a well-developed Education programme that supports providers in primary care to provide palliative care in the community. Arohanui Hospice also contributes to local, national and international research in palliative care.
