Hospice Mid Canterbury is a community based service focused on enhancing the quality of life for all those in the Mid Canterbury district dealing with life-limiting illness and bereavement.
We provide support, education and therapies for people with life-limiting illnesses, their families and carers.
The core services we offer are counselling, bereavement support, writing life stories, massage, reiki therapy, and books for adults and children dealing with illness, the end of life journey and grief. We also have a wonderful team of volunteers available to provide whatever support is needed, such as companionship, sitting to provide a break for the carer, shopping, pet care, etc.

Nurse Maude Hospice consists of an 11-bed inpatient facility and a specialist community palliative care team. The service has coverage from Rakaia in the south to Kaikoura in the north of the South Island.
It is the only hospice in Christchurch and it covers a population of about 450,000.
