The need to update skills, keep abreast of new knowledge and developments and contribute to existing services is the focus of all health professionals with a serious interest in palliative care and caring for the terminally ill and their families.

Hospice New Zealand is actively involved in education and workforce development. Among the opportunities on offer are postgraduate courses, annual education scholarships, breakfast lectures and the biennial conference.
