Cranford Hospice serves a population of about 160,000 people from Takapau in central Hawke’s Bay to Wairoa, and including Napier, Hastings and the Chatham Islands.

Cranford cares for 510 new patients and their families each year. Whenever possible it supports patients to stay at home with visits from its team of palliative care co-ordinators.

Cranford has an eight-bed inpatient facility in Hastings, two respite beds in Napier and access to hospital beds in Waipukurau and Wairoa. The clinical team includes doctors, pharmacists, nurses, a bereavment counsellor, an art therapist and a massage therapist.

Cranford is helped by more than 150 volunteers in domestic roles, reception duties, bereavement visiting, and fundraising and has a strong community focus.
