Business Network International’s 93 chapters raised over $63,000 for hospices during this years hospice appeal, and agree to do that and more as part of their national partnership with Hospice New Zealand.

BNI NZ started raising funds for hospice in 2005, contributing $12,000; this increased to $35,000 in 2006 with this year peaking at more than $63,000. BNI NZ also supports Hospice New Zealand’s Palliative Care Scholarship programme which sees health care professionals continue their studies.

BNI NZ is New Zealand’s biggest structured referral network with more than 92 chapters from Dunedin to Northland. Each chapter has between 20 and 40 business owners and salespeople, who work to generate referrals for each other as part of a team.

In New Zealand BNI has more than 2060 members who attend weekly breakfast meetings. Its main function is to network, develop and grow small to medium business in New Zealand and its philosophy is based on the principal of ‘givers gain’.
