Appeal 2006

July 2006.- On behalf of Hospice New Zealand and hospices nationwide I wish to thank the New Zealand public for generously supporting the annual national appeal and Time to Remember during May.

The amount of money raised was $620,000. This is a wonderful response in supporting hospice by the generous New Zealand public and far exceeded money raised from previous years. The money raised from Time to Remember will help top up hospices’ funding.

Hospices are only partially Government funded so rely heavily on community fundraising to cover running costs.

The specialist care given by hospice staff to patients substantially helps them in making the most of their lives. The generous donations from the New Zealand public means that hospices can continue to provide free palliative care services to those who need it.

So thank you all so much for your continued and greatly appreciated support.

Dalton Kelly

President
